Second "Rapidly Evolving Expectations in the Housing Market" Report Released

Sep 14, 2020, 15:00 PM by Mortgage Professionals Canada
Tracking shifts in Canadians’ expectations about the housing market.

Today, we proudly release the second in our series of four consumer reports – Rapidly Evolving Expectations in the Housing Market, written by our Chief Economist Will Dunning.

These reports are creating new data that will assist in tracking shifts in Canadians’ expectations about the housing market in order to monitor the evolving circumstances and track changes in sentiment toward the market in general, the deferral programs and homeownership as a good idea.

This second report continues to have four major sections that report on consumer opinions and expectations:

  • How COVID-19 has affected employment and incomes.
  • Impacts on expectations about buying homes.
  • Attitudes and expectations on topics related to housing markets and mortgages.
  • Opinions about the mortgage deferral program.

Look for the third and fourth reports in our Rapidly Evolving Expectations in the Housing Market series in late October and early December respectively.

We encourage you to share the report.
