AMP National Competency Exam


The AMP National Competency Exam is an assessment designed to test the applicant's ability to apply the knowledge and skills required for the AMP designation. Developed in collaboration with the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business, the exam covers concepts and practices related to the topics outlined in the AMP Knowledge Domains.

The exam will be three hours in length and contains both multiple choice and short-answer questions. A mark of 70% or more is required to pass.

Next Exam Dates

The next exam date is June 15, followed by September 5 and December 7.
Registrations must be received at least 30 days prior to the examination date.

The Detailed Topic Summary provides the broad framework of required AMP competencies and a guide for areas of knowledge that may be tested on the exam.

AMP Optional Courses
While candidates are not required to complete any courses prior to writing the exam, they are strongly urged to assess their comfort level with the topics listed in the Detailed Topic Summary.
