Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are online examinations?

Online examinations take place online with a live proctor, giving students the flexibility to complete their exams remotely.

2. How do I book my online exam?

Students are eligible to book their final exam once they have completed their online modules. Upon completion, students will have access to the BOOK EXAM button available on their My Activities page. This button will redirect to a registration page where students have the option of selecting an online exam.

Once a student has submitted their registration request using the BOOK EXAM button, they will receive emailed instructions within one business day on how to access the online exam platform and how to select an exam date.

3. How do I access my online exam on my scheduled exam date?

You will access your online exam by following the steps provided in the emailed instructions from the Education Department.

Specifically, you will navigate to MPC's online exam platform, log in using the credentials provided by MPC, and then click on your course name. From there, you will use the Online Examinations link to access your online exam dashboard and connect to your proctor. Complete details are provided in your exam registration email.

4. Who will be proctoring my exam?

The live, virtual proctor team is comprised of strong communicators, technical troubleshooters and well-focused college professionals.

5. What if something goes wrong during my online exam?

The online exam platform offers technical support all day, every day. If something goes wrong either before or during an exam, students can connect with the online exam support team by email, phone or live chat. If a student experiences a technical issue during their exam and is unable to reconnect to their proctor and continue, they should contact Mortgage Professionals Canada for assistance. MPC will look into the matter and determine whether an exam reset is required.

6. What do I do if I fail to connect to a proctor and cannot begin my exam?

Connecting to a proctor should only take a few minutes. If you find yourself waiting for a long period of time, contact the online exam support team to reschedule, as there may have been a technical issue affecting your connection. Contact details are available through the online exam platform.

7. What if I fail my exam? Can I re-take it online?

Yes. You can re-take your exam online should you fail your first attempt. Registration details are provided in your emailed results notification.

Once your request is received, MPC will email you with confirmation details on how to proceed with booking your exam rewrite.

8. Does the process of connecting to my proctor cut into my exam time?

No. The authentication process does not cut into your exam time. The timer on your exam does not start until you have begun the test.

9. When will I be able to connect to a proctor?

You will be able to begin your exam session by clicking the "Start Session" button only at your scheduled start time. We recommend that you log in roughly 15 minutes prior in order to re-check your system requirements and review the exam rules and instructions. The time you spend waiting to connect to your proctor does not cut into your exam time.

10. Will I have the same proctor every time I take an online exam?

Proctors are randomly assigned to exams. You may get the same proctor more than once, but you may also have a different proctor for each test.
