MBQ101 is an intensive online self-study program. Before registering,
review the prerequisites, study commitment, required AMF materials,
completion timeline and examination requirements so you can plan
appropriately for the program.
You must meet the registration prerequisites.
You must be at least 18 years old, have completed at least Secondary 5
and enter your AMF client number in your MPC profile before registering.
If you do not have an AMF client number, you must obtain one from the
AMF first.
Plan for an intensive study schedule.
MBQ101 is a demanding program. Participants are encouraged to dedicate
approximately 4 to 5 hours per day to online modules, required readings,
knowledge checks and learning activities.
Two AMF manuals are included.
Students receive the required AMF course materials upon registration,
including the manuals covering ethics and professional practice and
mortgage brokerage. The manuals must be studied alongside the online
modules.
You must complete the online modules before booking your exam.
Interactive learning activities and module assessments must be completed
as you progress through the program. End-of-module tests require a
passing grade of 80% to advance to the next module.
Your first exam attempt must be completed within 90 days.
You must complete the required online modules and your first program
examination attempt within 90 days of your original registration date.
The program examination requires a passing grade of 72%.
The examination consists of 25 multiple-choice questions and has a
90-minute time limit. Students may have up to three attempts, subject
to the applicable rewrite timelines and program policies.

examination administered by the Autorité des marchés
financiers (AMF).

directly from the AMF before registering.

program. You must achieve a minimum grade of
80% on each end-of-module test before progressing
to the next module.
All online modules must be completed before you can register for
the MBQ101 final program examination.
Complete Your First Exam Attempt Within 90 Days
Your online modules and first final exam attempt must be completed
within 90 days of your original registration date.
Pass the MBQ101 Program Examination
The MBQ101 final examination consists of

Exam Rewrites
Students have a maximum of three attempts to pass
the final examination. A second attempt must be completed within
one month of the first attempt and a third and final attempt must
be completed within one month of the second attempt.

in the MBQ101 program in full to continue.
Continue Through the AMF Licensing Process
Successfully completing MBQ101 satisfies the MPC education requirement
associated with eligibility for the applicable AMF mortgage broker
licensing examination. Additional qualification, examination and
authorization requirements are administered by the AMF.
Language Requirements
MBQ101 is offered in English. Licensing examinations, communications
and services provided by the AMF may be subject to Quebec’s
Charter of the French Language. Learners are responsible for confirming
their eligibility to receive AMF services or examinations in English.
Eligible Mortgage Professionals Canada members can receive
a rebate of up to $500 after successfully
completing the MBQ101 program and meeting the applicable
membership requirements.

You must be a member through an MPC member mortgage brokerage.
You can submit the Member Rebate application after completing
12 months of continuous membership with the
same mortgage brokerage that sponsored your registration into

Your mortgage brokerage must confirm your 12 months of service.
The Member Rebate application must be submitted within
18 months of your course registration date.

Program Access
Online modules are available immediately after registration. Students
receive access to the program for 3 months and must complete their first
final exam attempt within 90 days of registration.
Course Extensions
Up to two extensions of 2 months each may be requested before the
