We are engaged with provincial regulators across the mortgage landscape and advocate for policies that help more homebuyers enter the housing market.

Recent policy wins include:

Ontario’s removal of the provincial portion of the HST on new homes for first-time buyers.
British Columbia’s update to PTT exemptions to reduce or eliminate taxes for eligible buyers, up to $1.1 million for newly built homes, and up to $835,000 for existing homes with a partial exemption available up to $860,000.

We support policies that help more Canadians access homeownership.

We engage with provincial regulators on issues affecting the mortgage sector.

We focus on policy changes that create meaningful benefits for buyers and members.
