In addition to our own continued advocacy initiatives, and with the federal election less than one year away, Mortgage Professionals Canada is coordinating with national housing industry organizations who share common interests, in order to advance the needs and best interests of members.
We continue to highlight the issues and concerns with the stress test and B-20 guidelines and will also discuss alternative measures which would benefit members, such as increasing the maximum amortization period from 25 to 30 years, which would also improve borrowing conditions for first-time homebuyers who are looking to realize their dream of homeownership.
Participating organizations include CHBA, CREA, Genworth, AIC and CCUA.
