The Manitoba Mortgage Salesperson Course is approved by the Manitoba Securities Commission (MSC) for Mortgage Salesperson licensing. Completing the course and successfully passing the required examination satisfies the education component of the licensing process.

The passing grade for the final examination is 70%. The examination must be successfully completed before you can proceed with the licensing process.

Meet Manitoba Licensing Requirements

Once you have passed the final examination and joined a mortgage brokerage, your brokerage submits your licensing application to the Manitoba Securities Commission.

Yes. The Manitoba Mortgage Salesperson Course is approved by the Manitoba Securities Commission for Mortgage Salesperson licensing education in Manitoba.
The passing grade for the final examination is 70%.
You must complete all online course modules before booking your examination. Once the course is complete, the BOOK EXAM button will become available on your My Activities page.
One examination rewrite is permitted. You must schedule the rewrite within 6 months of receiving your grade. If you are unsuccessful on the rewrite, you must re-enrol in the course to continue your studies.
Examination fees depend on the delivery method selected. Online examinations are $75 and in-person examinations at external testing centres are $100.
Online course access is available immediately after registration. Students who choose the E-Text option can access the electronic textbook from the online course or through the link provided in their registration confirmation email.
A financial calculator is required. The course provides instruction for the Hewlett-Packard 10bII or 10bII+ and Texas Instruments BAII+ or BAII+ Professional models.
You have 6 months from your original registration date to complete the online modules and final examination. Course extensions may be purchased if required.
In addition to completing the required education and examination, applicants must meet the Manitoba Securities Commission’s licensing requirements. These include being at least 18 years old, being suitable for licensing and being authorized by a mortgage brokerage to deal in mortgages.
You must also register for your licence with the MSC within 6 months of successfully completing the examination.
Course registrations cannot normally be placed on hold or transferred to another person. Exceptions may be considered when requests are submitted to the Education Department for review.
