Completing a potential borrower’s application effectively is one of the most important tasks you will complete in the mortgage transaction process. “Effectively” doesn’t just mean “accurately.” The skill that will assist you the most in achieving “effectively” is the ability to ask all the right questions and to answer all your borrowers’ questions correctly.
In this updated course, you will proceed through the steps of obtaining personal, income source, and financial information from the applicant. At the end, you’ll have an opportunity to play the role of “observer” in a case study by:
• listening to a conversation between a broker and potential borrower.
• identifying where the broker could make improvements in asking questions.
• checking your understanding of why certain questions are important to ask.
